We’re based in the heart of Robin Hood country, Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire, where folklore and storytelling are commonplace. And we’re here to tell you the tale of how Cooks & Company have been delighting clients since the 1970s.

Are you sitting comfortably? Let’s begin.

The Cooks & Company story

Our story begins in 1973 when Cooks & Company was a small, family-run business in the heart of England. At our core lies a passion for creating bespoke kitchens that are not only functional but also luxurious. And from the very beginning, we believed every kitchen should reflect its owner's taste and personality.

At first, we had to work hard to establish our reputation. We began by sourcing the finest materials and hiring skilled artisans to create unique kitchens.

As word of our exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail spread, Cooks & Company's reputation grew. We soon became the go-to business for anyone seeking a bespoke luxury kitchen in Nottinghamshire. At this point, we also ventured into the world of premium appliances. Because what’s a kitchen without a means to store, prepare and cook food?

To maintain our high standards, we’ve continued investing in the latest technology and materials and partnering with the best designers, suppliers and craftsmen. We’ve opened a jaw-dropping new showroom at our HQ in Newark, where we hold regular cooking demos and proudly display our products and kitchen designs.

Despite our success, we’re still a family-run business at heart, with a passion for creating exceptional kitchens that stand the test of time. We’re committed to maintaining our reputation for excellence and exceeding expectations at every client interaction.

Our ethos

We place great emphasis on quality. Luxury isn’t just about aesthetics but about how something feels, how it’s designed and created, and how it functions and lasts. We believe that investing in quality ensures your kitchen will last a lifetime and helps create a more sustainable and environmentally conscious approach to design.

Describe your job in three words. Dynamic - Fast - Enjoyable.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now? Designing and building my own home.

What’s the best thing about being part of the Cooks & Company team? It’s a second family.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now? I'm designing a range of handmade furniture to accompany our bespoke kitchens and interiors. It's a challenging and exciting project requiring lots of creativity and practicality.

What’s been the most exciting project you’ve worked on? One of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on was designing a luxury kitchen for a celebrity client. It was a high-profile project that challenged me to create a stunning and functional space that reflects the client's unique style.

Tell us something we don’t know about you. I'm a trained cabinet maker and love creating bespoke furniture in my free time. It's a passion of mine that I bring to my work at Cooks & Company. I truly believe that combining design and craftsmanship is essential in creating unique and high-quality furniture and kitchens for our clients.

Iain Moulds, Retail & Trade Sales Manager

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now? I have a very large project I'm quoting for which will be the largest order we’ve ever taken on, when it comes off.

What’s the best thing about being part of the Cooks & Company team? Our phenomenal showroom. We’ve worked so hard to create it, it’s hard not to feel really proud of it.

What’s been the most exciting project you’ve worked on? It’s hard to say as there have been many but for me, some of the “celebrity/public eye clients” that I’ve had the responsibility of handling.

What’s the best thing about being part of the Cooks & Company team? Working at a family run business. It feels close-knit and it’s easy to admire how the business started and to watch it progress but knowing what’s to come is also very exciting. Being part of this process is something I feel proud of.

What’s been the most exciting project you’ve worked on? Dressing our Charles Yorke & Bauformat showroom. It was amazing to be a part of the new development. I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved and how it’s all come together.

What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid? A fashion photographer. I was obsessed with all the clothing catalogues you’d get in the post. I’d cut them up for my scrapbook creating ‘mood boards’ of my favourite photographs.

Describe your job in three words. Interesting – Creative - Challenging

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now? Each design we do is really cool as they’re all different in their own ways with endless possibilities.

What’s been the most exciting project you’ve worked on? The new showroom. It’s been fantastic to see it all come together after many months of planning and preparation.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now? Designing multiple rooms for a beautiful house laden with Robin Hood history and getting to know the lovely clients. Truly connecting with them has allowed the design to revolve fully around their fabulous lifestyle, and so far, it’s looking stunning.

What’s been the most exciting project you’ve worked on? At Cook’s and Company? Probably the baby pink kitchen we pitched. Throughout my design career the most exciting must be the redesign of an entire estate and stately home into a wedding venue, artisan market, and tourist attraction.

Tell us something we don’t know about you. I’m very passionate and pedantic about activities like gift wrapping, Christmas decorating, and pumpkin carving to the point where my family have said they won’t do them with me anymore because I become a ‘creativity monster’.
